A weekend to explore the many sides of Geopoetics –  creativity, poetry, music, walking, food and our award-winning film. Join us for days of inspiration, reflection, conversation, creativity and engagement with the natural world.

Itinerary:

Friday 24 October

  • 7.30pm Screening of the film, Expressing the Earth,

  • Exploration of Geopoetics by various artists and scientists.

  • Q & A: Glenda Rome, Film-maker, Claire Pençak & Norrie Bissell, Producer

  • Buffet Meal: Damascus Drum, Silver Street (6pm).

Saturday 25 October

  • Geopoetic Experiences: 11-4.30pm.

  • A day of Workshops such as haiku and ecology (booking details to follow).

  • Exhibition of paintings from the ‘Dark Skies’ series by William Morrison-Bell.

  • Poetry and Music Open Mic night (7.30pm) with buffet (6pm)

  • Experience local produce and food, with Hawick Vegetable Stall

Sunday 26 October

  • Geopoetic Walk: dept by car/car share: 11am 8-mile Geopoetic Walk:

  • Location up-river by a tributary of the Tweed. Over a local lunch

  • Discover James Hogg’s local connections & current ecological restoration.
