Online launch of Stravaig #18 – Geopoetics, An Archipelago on Thursday 12th November at 6:30pm GMT

Published by Alistair Duncan on

With only one issue in 2026, this is a bumper issue with poetry, prose, essays and artworks coming from across the UK, Faeroe Islands, Iceland, Kenya and North America.

On Zoom, contributors will read their poems and prose, talk about their essays and artworks and share their inspiration on the theme of walking, mountains and coastlines with plenty of time to ask questions and discuss afterwards.

This issue introduces From the Archive, a look back to the early days of geopoetics with excerpts from Open World Poetics set up in Glasgow in November 1989. We also have Field Notes which takes us to Glasgow for the annual meeting in June with a walk through Victoria Park, talks, a Kenneth White film screening and a huge thank you to Norman Bissell, Director of the Scottish Centre of Geopoetics who stepped down after 24 years! You’ll also find details from Burngate Purbeck Stone Centre where a week of geopoetic events formed part of the annual Purbeck Arts Week.
